'The wood is alive and the beast will feed.'
One year after the mysterious deaths of her parents, Patience Wakefield has closed herself off from the town that accuses her of their murder. But when an animal attack kills one of the townsfolk, whispers swirl that a beast, unseen for centuries, has returned: the wolf.
As the death toll rises it becomes clear the dark forest is alive with creatures once thought dormant. But are the real monsters the ones hiding in the wood, or those that call themselves a neighbour?
